The children have enjoyed learning about composting and caring for our worm farm. We harvested ‘worm tea’ and set up a little ‘worm tea’ stall. The families and children have been excited to use this on their gardens at home! 🪴

To all of our past and present families who have been instrumental in fundraising for this project, thank you so much. We feel very fortunate. Thank to Jemma Cullen (committee president) and our 2024 parent committee for your hard work in getting this project across the line. Thank you also to Gemma Faint for liaising with the many parties involved. We all feel very lucky and grateful to have such an amazing playground.

A highlight of our recent Open Day was welcoming past, present and future students. It was wonderful to welcome back so many past families and also meet future families. Thank you to everyone for coming along and helping to make it such a great day.

Thank you to everyone for making our Open Day which celebrated our 75th year such a huge success….. Our fantastic committee for organising our raffle and bake sale. All of the very generous donors to our raffle. Our wonderful families who bought and sold raffle tickets and for baking all of the amazing treats. Our hard working staff and of the course the children who prepared our beautiful Kindy so well. Thank you also to Councillor Jared Cassidy for calling in to show his continued support for our Kindy. We loved welcoming back past families and staff as well as showing future families how wonderful our Kindy is. It was wonderful to see past students reconnect with their teachers and also with each other. We are very grateful and fortunate to have such a wonderful Kindy and be part of such an amazing community.

With the Queensland Government recently announcing free Kindy for all eligible aged children (born between 01/07/19 and 30/06/20), Geebung Kindy has almost reached capacity for 2024. Thank you to the wonderful firefighters for visiting the Banksia and Lilly Pilly friends yesterday. The firefighters talked to us about fire safety and what to do in an emergency. It is safe to say the highlight was spraying the fire hose.

Yay us! We've done it again! Geebung Kindergarten & Preschool has been registered in the ecoBiz program since mid-2018 and is proud to announce we've been recognised again as a Star Partner in 2023. Our water consumption decreased by 29% in the 2022 assessment period. Therefore overall, we have reduced our waster intensity by 13%. ecoBiz is a free program funded by the Queensland Government to support businesses improve their energy, water and waste efficiency. #sustainability #ecobiz #BusinessChamberqld #takingaction #stopwasting

Picture Plate templates are now available for collection at kindy! Just pop into the office or see one of our friendly staff. Turn your child's artwork into a beautiful keepsake they'll treasure forever. Strong enough for everyday use and they make wonderful gifts for family members. Your child will be extremely happy and proud to eat off their artwork for many years to come! Please find attached some examples of previous picture plates from Geebung Kindy children. Picture Plates are always very popular and a lot of fun. You can purchase yours via the link below for $30 per plate. Orders are due by Friday, 21 July 2023 and the template drawings must be returned by Wednesday, 26 July 2023. Your child's plate will be ready for collection from kindy in early to mid-October. All funds raised through this fundraiser will be put towards our future playground upgrade!
